  • The Big Sun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Deadline - June 23, 2011 Amount of Award - $500.00 The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community..   • A scholarship has been instituted by the Weakley County Young Farmers and Ranchers for a student interested in a career in agriculture or a supporting field of study. The award consists of a $500 scholarship which can be renewed up to 3 times after the initial disbursement for a total of $2000. The scholarship is payable for each of the first four semesters to student pursuing any course of study at The University of Tennessee at Martin College of Agriculture or any field of study at The Tennessee Technical Center in McKenzie. The recipient of the scholarship is to be a graduating senior and a resident of Weakley County immediately attending the fall semester of either The University of Tennessee at Martin or The Tennessee Technical Center in McKenzie.   • The Linda Vowell Cantrell Memorial Scholarship applications are available in the guidance office. This is a $1000 scholarship for seniors planning to attend UTM and who have financial need. See Mrs. Martin for an application.

    Gateway Testing
     
        To raise the academic level and performance for all high school students, the Gateway tests must be passed in order to receive a regular high school diploma. The three tests taken are Algebra 1, English II, and Biology.

    The test dates for the 2007-2008 school year are as follows:
