Weighted Courses

The weighted grade concept is designed to encourage and reward students for attempting a more rigorous academic curriculum. Grades are weighted in designated courses by adding 5 points to the numerical six weeks average (enabling a student in a weighted grade class to obtain a maximum 6 weeks score of 105) and by increasing the quality point value in determining GPA (an A in a weighted grade class is assigned 5 quality points instead of 4 quality points for an A in a regular course). The designated courses under the weighted policy are:

AP English Pre-calculus
Calculus Advanced Algebra/Trig.
Chemistry 1 Chemistry 2
Biology 2 (prereq. Chem. 1) Physics
