| Weighted Courses | |
|
The weighted grade concept is designed to encourage and reward students for attempting a more rigorous academic curriculum. Grades are weighted in designated courses by adding 5 points to the numerical six weeks average (enabling a student in a weighted grade class to obtain a maximum 6 weeks score of 105) and by increasing the quality point value in determining GPA (an A in a weighted grade class is assigned 5 quality points instead of 4 quality points for an A in a regular course). The designated courses under the weighted policy are: |

| AP English | Pre-calculus |
| Calculus | Advanced Algebra/Trig. |
| Chemistry 1 | Chemistry 2 |
| Biology 2 (prereq. Chem. 1) | Physics |
